Awhile back we made a trip to Medellin, Colombia, where we met with Sneider. (Sneider, 27 was born and raised in Santa Domingo Savio, a very needy and heavily populated neighborhood which previously suffered from guerrilla attacks by the rebels. He is currently caring for his four-year-old nephew and a couple of other members of his family. In spite of an austere life amidst many hardships and challenges, he has a good heart and wants to make a difference for his impoverished community especially the at-risk children, and young people.)
It was beautiful to hear about Sneider’s ministry and the impact he is having. He has some helpers who volunteer their time, one of whom is Jaime, who spent his childhood in gangs. Sneider is helping Jaime to change his life by involving him in being a force for good with Sneider’s projects with the children in the neighborhood. At the time of our visit, they were in the middle of a football tournament which Sneider had organized.
Sneider expressed that it’s his dream to start a foundation to minister to the children in his neighborhood, for which he needs help.
