Esahn Family Assistance, Thailand
Esahn Family Assistance operates in the North East of Thailand, having established long-term and on-going community services projects including:
Esahn Family Assistance hosts free English Camps enabling poorer children a foreign-language-learning opportunity, which enhances their potential for the future. For example, if they have a knowledge of the English language, it will expand their job possibilities.
We are sometimes approached by donors looking for a good investment for their charitable donation. For example, recently a ladies' group asked us to help them find a good cause. We recommended the construction of a simple cafeteria at an extremely poor school about 30 kilometers away. At the time, the students had no place to eat their lunches, so they ended up just sitting around on the ground or any spot they could find on the school premises. The school administration officials confirmed this as their greatest need. So the donors visited and we undertook coordinating the construction, locating the best price for all the materials needed, coordinating the different phases of the construction, as well as visiting the construction site while the work was underway to make sure that everything was going well.
Esahn Family Assistance conducts a Leadership Training course at different institutions for young people, where many of the patrons may be natural born leaders, but often have just never been pointed in the right direction with their talents. Institutions where we teach the Leadership Training course range from poorer provincial schools to Juvenile Delinquent Centers for boys and Rehabilitation Centers for Girls. Many of these young people have tremendous potential, despite the fact they originate from broken homes and/or underprivileged families.
Eshan Family Assistance offers counseling and direction to former "street girls" who have escaped lives of forced prostitution. They are learning skills to help them get jobs.
Each year over the past 15 years, Esahn Family Assistance has contributed its services to the locally-organized Special Olympics events.
Our latest project is providing clean filtered drinking water for rural area schools.
